The Whatcom County Bar Judicial Evaluation Committee is comprised of a diverse group of attorneys with over 150 years of combined legal experience; including attorneys with the Public Defender's Office, the Whatcom County Prosecuting Attorney's office, large firms (for Whatcom County) and solo practice.
The Committee includes lawyers with experience in criminal law, trust and probate, civil litigation, dependency, real estate, contracts and business. The Committee reviews a lengthy questionnaire, conducts reference checks, interviews each applicant, and deliberates before rating the applicants.
The Committee used the criteria set forth in the Whatcom County Bar Association Judicial Candidate Evaluation Committee Rules and Procedures ("Rules") to rate the applicants. A copy can be obtained from the committee chair.
The attorneys serving on the Committee are: Mamie Lackie, Betsy Brinson, Bob Butler (Chair), Chris Quinn, Chuck Hurt, and Erin Mae Glass.
